If you turn out your pockets or bag then there’s a pretty high chance that you’ll have more than one electronic gadget on you. A huge number of people in the UK own mobile phones and it’s pretty unlikely that you’ll know somebody who doesn’t own one.

An increasing number of mobile phones have internet access, which means you can browse the internet as you normally would do at home whilst you’re on the go. This is very popular for people who like to use online social networking sites as it means they can access them from anywhere at any time.

However it’s not just mobile phones that are advancing at an incredible rate. Existing gadgets are constantly being updated and having changes made to them. MP3 players for example, are now more advanced than ever before, allowing people to watch video as well as listen to music and even stream programs and movies from the internet.

There’s an increasing tendency lately to produce gadgets that combine the function of several different devices into one unit. For example, many of the very high end mobile phones are also able to play music and videos, take photographs, access the internet and do all the usual stuff you’d expect a phone to do such as make calls and send messages. However, this begs the question of who actually uses all these functions and is it really necessary to produce a phone that can do all this.
